What is Linksys Connect?
 
The Linksys Connect software is a step-by-step setup wizard that will have your computer and other networking devices connected wirelessly in minutes.  Linksys Connect offers powerful tools for managing your wireless network such as Security settings, Guest access, Parental controls and Advanced settings
 
The software comes with every purchase of Linksys Smart Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Routers and Linksys X-series Gateways.  It is installed when you run the Setup CD or Easy Setup Key on a computer.  This allows you to manage and share your network resources conveniently.  To learn more about the Linksys Connect software, click here.

NOTE:  This article uses “Linksys Connect” as the keyword.
 
Select your computer’s operating system below for specific instructions:
 
Windows 8/8.1
Windows 7/Vista
Windows XP
OS X®
 
IMPORTANT:  Not all Linksys routers are compatible with Linksys Connect.  To know what routers are compatible, click here
 
Windows 8/8.1
 
NOTE:  Only Linksys Connect versions 1.4.12263.1 and newer are compatible with Windows 8
 
Step 1:
Press the Windows  key on your keyboard to access the Start screen. 
 
QUICK TIP:  The Search field will automatically appear once you enter any character from your keyboard.
 
Step 2:
Enter “Linksys Connect” on the Search field.
 
 
Step 3:
Once the results populate, click the Linksys Connect icon.
 

 
  NOTE:  If you are unable to locate Linksys Connect, it may not be installed yet.  Download the latest Linksys Connect setup wizard here.  For more instructions on how to do this, click here.
 
Windows 7/Vista
 
Step 1:
Click the Pearl  button and select All Programs.
 
Step 2:
Locate and select Linksys Connect.  This will launch Linksys Connect and take you to its main screen. 
 
 
Windows XP
 
Step 1:
Click on the  button and select All Programs.
 
Step 2:
Locate and select Linksys Connect.  This should launch Linksys Connect and take you to its main screen.
 
 
OS X®
 
QUICK TIP:  Only Linksys Connect versions 1.4.11222 and newer are compatible with OS X Lion 10.7 and Mountain Lion 10.8.   The OS X Mavericks 10.9 isn’t supported by ALL versions of Linksys Connect.  For more information, click here.
 
Step 1:
On your Desktop, locate and double-click the Macintosh HD  icon.
 
Step 2:
On the pop-up screen, click Applications on the left panel to display all contents under the Applications category.
 
 
Step 3:
From the list of Applications, locate and double-click the Linksys Connect  icon. 
 
Expanding your wireless network
