QUICK TIP:  Before accessing the web-based setup page of the range extender, ensure that the computer is connected to the range extender with an Ethernet cable.

IMPORTANT:  You need to know your router’s current wireless security settings before changing any settings on the range extender.  The range extender’s wireless settings should match the wireless settings of your router.  Otherwise, the range extender will not work.

Accessing the web-based setup page of the range extender

Step 1:
Launch your web browser then enter “192.168.1.1” in the Address bar.

NOTE:  If the range extender is not yet configured, it will also redirect automatically to the web-based setup page if you try to access any website.  If the range extender is already configured, check the router’s DHCP Client Table and look for its IP address.  To learn how to do this, click here.

Step 2:
Leave the User name blank and enter “admin” in the Password field.

NOTE:  RE1000 is used here as an example.
