Why do you need it?

Accessing your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account allows you to manage your wireless home network as you can specify or modify your router settings securely anytime, anywhere.

After setting up your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router, you can easily access it wherever there is an Internet connection by using a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account and associating your router to it.  The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account is a free service bundled with the new Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers.

IMPORTANT:  To avoid any issues with accessing the router using your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account, make sure that the router’s firmware is up-to-date.  Click here to learn more about checking the firmware version of your router and Linksys Smart Wi-Fi system requirements.  You can also check your router’s product page on support.linksys.com for the latest firmware updates.

You can access your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account using any of the following:

Router’s IP address / Using the myrouter.local option
Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account URL

NOTE:  Your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account is accessible via web browsers in Windows, Mac® and iPad®.  To know more about the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi system requirements, click here.

Router’s IP address / Using the myrouter.local option

You can use your router's IP address or enter "myrouter.local" if you are accessing your router locally.  There are two (2) possible scenarios when doing this.  Select the situation that applies to you:

Step 1:
Launch a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Safari®.

Step 2:
In the Address bar, enter your router’s IP address or "myrouter.local" then press [Enter].

NOTE:  The router’s default IP address is 192.168.1.1.  If it doesn’t work or if the IP address has been changed, check your Linksys router's IP address.  For instructions, click here.

Step 3:
When the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account login page appears, enter your Email Address and Password then click Log in.

QUICK TIP:  If you haven’t created, activated or associated an account to your router, click here to learn how.

In the Address bar, enter your router’s IP address or “myrouter.local” then press [Enter].
