Title: Checking the local IP address of your Linksys router

Article ID: 3997

Why do I need to check the local IP address of my Linksys router?

The local IP address of your Linksys router is used to access the router’s web-based setup page.  This is also the Default Gateway that is configured on your computer’s Ethernet adapter when it connects to the network.  Linksys routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default local IP address.

IMPORTANT:  Before checking the IP address of your Linksys router, make sure that your computer is connected to it wirelessly or using an Ethernet cable.

Select your computer’s operating system below for specific instructions on how to check the local IP address of your router.
