Article ID: 17593

To setup or modify the settings of your Linksys Wireless-N Ethernet bridge, this article will discuss the two (2) methods in accessing its web-based setup page.

Using the IP address assigned by the router (DHCP Client Table)
Using the bridge’s default IP address

NOTE:  This article assumes that your Linksys Wireless-N Ethernet bridge is already set up and working properly.  To learn how to install your Linksys Wireless-N bridge through the web-based setup page, click here.

Using the IP address assigned by the router (DHCP Client Table)

You can go to your Linksys router’s DHCP Client Table feature to check your bridge’s IP address.  Once you have the bridge’s IP address, use it to access its web-based setup page.

NOTE:  If you are using a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router, learn how to access the DHCP Client Table through the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account by clicking here.  For Linksys Wi-Fi Router, click here.

Step 1:
Enter the Ethernet bridge’s IP address as displayed from the DHCP Client Table of your router.

NOTE:  In the example below, the router assigned 192.168.1.131 as the IP address of the bridge.

Step 2:
You will be prompted for your bridge’s login account.  Enter the User name and Password in their corresponding fields and click OK.

QUICK TIP:  The default password is admin and the User name field is left blank.  If you forgot the password of your bridge, reset the device to factory settings.  To learn how to reset your WET610N, click here.  To learn how to reset your WES610N, click here.

The web-based setup page of your Ethernet bridge should now open.

Using the bridge’s default IP address

If your bridge is not associated with a DHCP server like a router, you can access its web-based setup page by using its default IP address, 169.254.1.250.

Follow the instructions below to learn how:

Step 1:
Connect your Linksys Wireless-N Ethernet bridge to your computer using an Ethernet cable.

Step 2:
Open a web browser and enter “169.254.1.250” in the Address bar.

Step 3:
You will be prompted to enter your bridge’s User name and Password.  Enter the User name and Password then click OK.

QUICK TIP:  The default password is admin and the User name field is left blank.

The web-based setup page of your Ethernet bridge should now open.

IMPORTANT:  If you have already set a user-defined static IP address for your bridge, you may use it to enter your bridge’s web-based setup page.  If you forgot the static IP address, reset the bridge to its factory settings and use the default static IP address.  To learn how to reset your WET610N, click here.  To learn how to reset your WES610N, click here.
