Connecting an Apple TV® to your network

Apple TV® lets you stream movies, sports, music and more in your TV from your network.  Also, it lets you mirror the contents of your Mac® or iOS device. 

This article will teach you how to connect an Apple TV® to the network of your Linksys router.

Wireless Connection

Before you begin, you will need the following:
  • An Apple TV set up and configured to your TV
  • Your wireless network settings
Step 1:
Turn ON your TV and plug your Apple TV device to the power outlet.

Step 2:
On the Home screen, select Settings > Network.

NOTE:  Apple TV cannot connect to networks that require additional or secondary login (e.g. captive networks).

Step 3:
Select the name of your Wi-Fi network and enter your password when prompted.
 
Wired Connection

Before you begin, you will need the following:
  • An Apple TV set up and configured to your TV.
  • An Ethernet Cable
Step 1:
Turn ON your TV and plug your Apple TV device to the power outlet.

Step 2:
Connect your Apple TV to your Linksys router using an Ethernet cable.

Step 3:
Wait for your Apple TV to activate.  Once activated, follow the on-screen instructions.

Congratulations, you have now successfully connected your Apple TV to your network.
