How to locate the MAC address of the Linksys RE7000 for MAC Filtering configuration

If MAC Filtering is configured on the main wireless router, you need to add the MAC address of the Linksys RE7000 Max-Stream™ AC1900+ Wi-Fi Range Extender to the list.  This is to allow or prevent the Linksys RE7000 from connecting to your existing wireless network.

This article will help you to locate the MAC address of the Linksys RE7000 for MAC Filtering configuration.

NOTE:  The MAC address at the back of the Linksys RE7000 is not the MAC address to use for MAC Filtering.  You must log in to the web-based setup page to write down the MAC address.

Step 1:
Access your Linksys RE7000’s web-based setup page.  To know how, click here.

Step 2:
Under the Status category, click WLAN Statistics.

NOTE:  When the Linksys RE7000 is in Access Point mode, there is no display for this field as it’s not needed since the range extender is wired into the network.

Step 4:
After getting the correct MAC address, add it to your main router’s MAC Filtering list.  To learn how to configure your router’s wireless MAC Filter using the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account, click here.
