Resetting your Linksys MX5300 Velop AX Whole Home WiFi 6 System

Resetting your Linksys MX5300 Velop AX Whole Home WiFi 6 System to factory defaults will erase customized settings you have configured with this node.

There are two ways to reset your node.  You can either perform a manual reset or a software reset.  Follow the specific instructions for each method.

Manual reset

Manual reset

Step 1:
Make sure your Linksys MX5300 is powered ON.

Step 2:
Lay the node on its side (where the light is visible to you) or hold the node in a comfortable position where you can hold the reset button and look at the light at the same time.

Step 3:
Using a non-pointed tip (e.g., the retracted end of a ballpoint pen), press and hold the reset button.

IMPORTANT:  Make sure that a bright red flash, followed by three to four quick faded red pulses then another bright red flash occur before you release the button.

Software reset

Step 1:
Make sure to know which node you will be resetting.


If you are resetting a parent node:
  • Using a desktop browser, go to www.linksyssmartwifi.com and enter your Linksys server account credentials to log in.  For instructions, click here.
  • You can also use the IP address such as http://192.168.1.1.  
NOTE:  You can check the IP address of the node from the Linksys app.  Go to Velop Administration > IP Details and look for IP Address.
 
If you are resetting a child node:
  • Check the IP address of the node you want to reset from the Linksys app.  Once you have the IP address, enter “http://x.x.x.x/ca” (where x.x.x.x represents the IP address of your child node) in the Address bar then press [ENTER].

Step 2:
Click on Troubleshooting.

Click Diagnostics.

Click Reset.

Click Yes.

Step 6:
Click Ok for the node to reboot.

Step 7:
Once the light on the node is solid purple, the node is ready again for setup.
