Checking the Linksys router's wireless settings using the Android™ smartphone

Before connecting your wireless devices to your network, you need to have the wireless network name (SSID), network key or password of your Linksys router.  You can retrieve these wireless settings by logging into the router’s web-based setup page.  You can also check your router’s wireless settings using your Android™ smartphone.

In this scenario, your Android smartphone is wirelessly connected to your Linksys router.

Step 1:
On your Home screen, tap .

Step 2:
Enter the IP address of your router.

NOTE:  The default IP address of your Linksys router is 192.168.1.1.

Step 3:
Enter your router’s Name and Password. Then tap Sign In.

NOTE:  If you forget or lost your password, it is recommended that you reset your router.  Resetting your router will set it back to its default settings.  You then need to reconfigure your Linksys router.

Step 4:
On the web-based setup page, tap the Wireless tab and select Manual.

Take note of your Network Name (SSID) and Passphrase.

 You may now connect your wireless computers and devices to your home network.
