Changing the Linksys WRT32X admin password

The router’s administrator password prevents unauthorized persons from accessing the web interface of your router and changing any of its settings.  The default password for the router is admin.  But it is recommended to change the administrator password to avoid unwanted access to your router.

Follow the steps below to change the admin password of the Linksys WRT32X AC3200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Gaming Router with Killer Prioritization Engine.

Step 1:
Access the Linksys WRT32X web interface.  For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
On the left side of the screen, click Router Administration.

Step 3:
Under General, type in the new password in the Admin Password field.  You can also include a Password Hint to help you remember your admin password.

NOTE:  The admin password will not be visible.  Clicking on the eye icon will allow you to view the NEW password you are typing in, not the current password.

Step 4:
Click User-added image at the bottom to apply any changes.

 
If none of your passwords work and you can't log in to the router, you may have to reset the router.  To learn more, click here.  Once you have successfully reset your router, you will need to reconfigure you router's settings.  For instructions, here.
