Manually setting up the Linksys RE6800 AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender

The Linksys RE6800 AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender can be set up in three (3) ways: Setup Wizard, Manual and using Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS).  This article will show you the steps on how to set up the device using Manual Setup.
 
NOTE:  This article assumes that your Linksys RE6800 is on factory default.

 
Step 1:
Connect a computer or a mobile device to the Linksys RE6800’s default SSID, which is Linksys Extender Setup – xxx.
 
QUICK TIP:  xxx are the last three (3) characters of the Linksys RE6800's MAC Address.  The MAC Address of your Linksys RE6800 is located on the label at the back of the device. 
 

Step 2:
Click the Manual Setup link to bypass the Setup Wizard.

Step 3:
Enter the default Password which is admin.
 
Step 4:
First, select the Operation Mode you need for your network.  For more information on the type of modes, click here.
 
Step 5:
Configure your manual settings for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on the Wireless > Basic Settings page.
 
NOTE:  The default mode when choosing Manual Setup is Wireless Range Extender mode.  When the Manual option has been clicked on, you will see an orange bar across the page stating that upstream connection is not configured.  At this point, you can go straight to the Site Survey page to select the upstream connection if you want to keep it in Wireless Range Extender mode, otherwise click on Change under Operation Mode and select the Access Point mode and follow the instructions.

QUICK TIP:  Click on the drop down arrow for User-added image and select your desired wireless options for the two (2) bands.
 
Step 6:
Click Save when you’re done to apply changes.
