Accessing the Linksys RE6800’s web-based setup page

The Linksys RE6800 AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender is the latest range extender from Linksys with 802.11ac Dual-Band Technology.  It can easily extend your wireless network to hard-to-reach locations in your home such as your backyard, garage, or bedroom to get Wi-Fi connection to smartphones, tablets, and laptops. 
 
This article will guide you on how to access your Linksys RE6800’s web-based setup page. 

 
Step 1:
Open a web browser.
 
Step 2:
Do one of the methods listed below to log in to the Linksys RE6800’s web-based setup page and press [ENTER]:
 
i.  Enter "http://extender.linksys.com" in the Address bar.
 
NOTE:  You must be connected to the SSID of the Linksys RE6800.      

ii.  Enter "http://RE6800-xxx" for Windows users, where xxx are the last three (3) characters of the Linksys RE6800’s MAC Address.  The MAC Address is located at the back label of the device.
 
NOTE:  If you changed your Linksys RE6800 name, then you will need to use the custom name (e.g. http://MyAP).

iii.  Enter "http://RE6800-xxx.local" for Mac® users, where xxx are the last three (3) characters of the Linksys RE6800’s MAC Address.  The MAC Address is located at the back label of the device.
                       
NOTE:  If you changed your Linksys RE6800 name, then you will need to use the custom name (e.g. http://MyAP.local).
 
iv.  Enter the Linksys RE6800’s IP Address.​
 
NOTE:  If the Linksys RE6800 does not detect a DHCP server, the default IP Address is 192.168.1.1 otherwise you will need to look up your range extender’s IP Address in the DHCP Client Table.  To know how to do this using a Linksys Wi-Fi Router, click

QUICK TIP:  Some options may not be available in Access Point mode due to the design and functionality as an access point.
 
Step 3:
You will be prompted for an administrative Password.  If you have customized your password, use it instead.  Otherwise, enter the default “admin” in the appropriate field then click Login.
