Getting to know the Linksys Wireless-N300 Access Point with PoE, LAPN300

The Linksys Wireless-N300 Access Point with PoE, LAPN300 is the latest Wi-Fi technology to offer a powerful wireless network.  It provides wireless connection to a wired network or extends the wireless coverage of an existing wireless network.  Through the use of this access point, employees can bring their own devices to work, and deploy access point easily with Power over Ethernet (PoE) supported.  With multiple SSID, wireless clients can be divided into different groups to have different access privileges.
 
The Linksys Wireless-N300 Access Point with PoE, LAPN300 can be used in:
  • hotspots operated by an Internet Service Provider (ISP)
  • small offices, home or free hotspots
  • setting up secure wireless networking for wireless clients to access the Internet

  • Power port  - Connect the AC power adapter to this port. 
NOTE:  Use only the adapter that came with your access point.
  • Ethernet port  - Connect a wired network device to this port.  This 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 LAN port supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) with a PoE switch or PoE injector.  LAPN300 can be powered ON from an 802.3af/802.3at compliant source.
QUICK TIP:  When both PoE and AC power adapter are connected to the access point, the device will get power from PoE as higher precedence.  Using Cat5e or better cable is highly recommended.
  • Reset button  - Press and hold this button for less than 15 seconds to powercycle the device.  Press and hold up to 25 seconds to reset the device to factory default settings.
