Setting up your Linksys DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modems

The Linksys DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modems are compatible with all major Cable Broadband providers.  These modems feature a Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) 3.0 standard.  These can provide a stable, high-speed connectivity ideal for simultaneous High-Definition (HD) media streaming, online gaming and web browsing.

NOTE:  To connect more than one (1) device, use a multi-port Ethernet switch or a router (not part of the package inclusions).

Step 4:
Connect the power adapter from the POWER port of the modem then plug the power adapter to an outlet to turn the modem ON.

NOTE:  The Linksys CM3016 or the Linksys CM3024 may reboot several times during this process and activation may take up to five (5) minutes.  The modem will be ready for use when the LED lights on the front panel stop blinking and remain ON.

Step 5:
Plug in and turn ON your computer and other home networking devices this time.

Step 6:
Once the modem is ready, the ETHERNET, STATUS and POWER LED lights will be solid.

Step 7:
On your computer, open a web browser and verify the Internet access.

NOTE:  Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) may have additional setup steps that will automatically appear on the browser.  If this happens, follow those steps to finish the process.  If you are still unable to go online, call your ISP and have your modem’s Serial Number (SN) and the Media Access Control (MAC) Address ready.
